Pony's
horse Copy (Patchy's Hot Copy) graciously stepped into the beautiful pasture for
blind horses at Mill Creek Farm in Alachua, Florida. These folks are
incredible, and have been providing a place where abused, abandoned or retired
horses can live out their lives in security, love and comfort. A place they
never leave, even in death, since they are laid to rest in the "Field of Dreams"
when they die. The land there can never be developed. The oaks will stand, the
grass won't be paved, the creek won't be diverted and the wildlife will not be
driven out of a natural safe haven.
Copy has unique history; for those of you who own a copy of The
Encyclopedia of the Horse, you can see Copy in all his glory in the Appaloosa
chapter, his rider and he are dressed in Native regalia. He spent many years as
a teacher at The Kentucky Horse Park, and came to be with Pony while he was at
Equitana in Louisville, KY. He has been in the ribbons until earlier this year,
as his sight is now gone, except for a few shadows.....
Pony's daughter Riana and Copy were dear friends, and she will
miss him terribly. Please visit their website and say hello, they are
terrific folks and Pony would appreciate you stopping by their website to say
hello, as well as any support you can give for the care of an elderly horse!
